About the clinic
Cullinen
Hand Therapy was founded by Sandi Cullinen OTR/L, CHT, in May 2004,
to provide quality care to patients with hand and upper extremity
injury or dysfunction.
Sandi graduated from San Jose State University with
a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy in June 1980.
She worked at Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital from 1980-1982 providing
care to patients with diagnosis that included stroke, head trauma,
Guillain-Barre, and spinal cord injuries.
In 1982 she provided home heath care through VNS.
She also started working at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital doing acute
inpatient care for orthopedic and neurologically impaired patients.
In 1983 she was trained to work in the outpatient department as
a hand therapist. In 1988 the hand program left SRMH and led by
Stan Pitman became Hand Rehabilitation Services of the North Bay.
In 1994 Hand Rehabilitation Services of the North
Bay was acquired by NovaCare Rehabilitation and Sandi worked in
the Santa Rosa and Petaluma Clinics. By 1996 Sandi had become manager
of the Petaluma Clinic and specialized in treating traumatic hand
injuries until the end of 2003. She was also a guest instructor
at the Western Institute of Science and Health where she taught
courses in splinting and modalities for 2 years.
In 1991 the first National Certification Exam for
Hand Therapists was given and Sandi acquired her Hand Certification
in June 1991 becoming a Certified Hand Therapist... Training and
eligibility for taking the hand certification exam requires over
2,000 hours of direct hands on experience treating hand and upper
extremity injuries and at least five years experience as a Registered
Therapist. Sandi has 20 years of specialization in hand and upper
extremity, and 24 years as an Occupational Therapist in rehabilitation.,
After passing her certification exam in 1991, she joined the first
group of Hand Therapists to become certified
Sandi has treated patients of all ages from 1 year
up to 97 years!

To be seen in the clinic you need a physician’s
referral. Call (707)-792-1370 to set up an appointment, or fax your
prescription to (707)-792-1362 with your phone number and insurance
information so we can check on your insurance eligibility before
scheduling an appointment.
It is requested that you not wear any fragrances or
scented products when you come for your appointment. |
